inferno sulla terra (Romano/Reader)
It was a bright day.
Too bright, in fact.
It was humid by the southern Italian beaches.
But I wasn't here to look for some fun.
Oh, quite the contrary. I was finished with it.
Looking around, I stepped into the shadows.
one step closer to the target.
my lips twitched in semblance of a smile.
but alas, such pleasures cannot stay.
he was there. i knew him.
flipping a coin up and down.
always landing on heads for some reason
i clear my throat and he sees me, turning around
the coin falls on the floor

a tilt of the head
and suddenly
"What are you doing in a place like this, idiot?"
my head shakes

Let her go (Norway/Nordic songfic)
It's a quiet Saturday morning in Sweden's home. A typical one.
Breakfast is over, Sweden and Finland have taken Sealand to Ikea to get him a new comforter.
Iceland is feeding his puffin in the kitchen. Denmark is still asleep. Norway holds a book in his lap on the living room couch.
The stairs creak and Denmark comes downstairs, eyes still lidded and running a hand through his messy hair.
He peeks his head into the living room and greets Norway. The quiet nation shows no response. Denmark shrugs and heads to the kitchen.
Iceland hands him a cold breakfast, and Denmark doesn't hesitate in devouring it.

"I guess they finally gave up."
I laughed humorlessly. Just when I decided I would pick up on twelfth call, huh? Figures.
I curled up in my heated blankets, willing the world into oblivion. The darkness held little comfort, and my ears rang from the sounds of someone running the shower the bathroom across the hall. I held the broken razor head tightly in my fist, wincing at the cuts that bore into my fingers. It would make typing and washing hard to do. I sighed.
The doorbell rang, a

"Sorry, Mr. Vargas, I don't think I'm quite good enough to be a professional artist. Nor would my parents let me."
Italy sighed dramatically, crossed his arms and shook his head. "Bella, you don't understand your talent! But I can see you won't listen to me will-a you?"
I smiled awkwardly, wondering when Italy would head off to teach his next class. Not that he ever hurried to do so. Italy smiled.
"Well, I suppose you're itching to talk to Kiku then, aren't you? I remember he did some

I looked to the side, hands fidgeting.
"Well, I haven't decided yet. I'm just taking general courses for now..."
Italy stared at me for a bit, before bursting out into laughter... well, giggles.
"Aw, bella, no pressure! Did you-a think I was going to suggest you go into art?"
My lips twitched up a bit and I admitted, "Yes, actually. I didn't want to disappoint you, Mr. Vargas."
"You know you can call-a me Feli now, right? I'm-a not your teacher anymore!" Italy chirped as he wrapped his arm around my shoulders, clearly leading me toward the art rooms. I felt just a little unnerved by the closeness,

I walked through the familiar doors of my high school and breathed in the old, musky air...
and suddenly had a coughing fit.
"_________? Are you okay?"
I looked up to see Liechtenstein fiddling with the hem of her shirt, looking at me with concerned eyes.
"Oh, oh yeah. I'm fine. -cough- Errr... how are you finding high school?"
She smiled and replied sweetly, "I love it! But I'm not allowed to take any of my brother's classes since there might be a conflict of interest. And you? I haven't seen you in ages! You should drop by more often, I'd make sure my brother doesn't accidentally shoot you on sight."
I laughed, "Of course, I'll think a
Your eyes were like light
all I could see was sunshine and brilliance
but your smile was a soft as a feather
my arms still remember the last time you held me
the first - and last - time you allowed it
and it was too much and not enough all at once
your words were warm enough to melt ice
and my eyes leaked tears at the heat
heart burned in the need for more
every time I breathe I can almost taste you there
but you never were.
... were you real? Are you memory or imagination?
The sun streamed through the laced curtains as I peeked into his room. Sacro Romano Impero was still asleep. I learned from experience not to knock while he was sleeping, and I had served him long enough to learn that he didn't mind me intruding into his room. I balanced a tray of breakfast in one hand and quietly closed the mahogany door behind me. I tiptoed over to the bed and silently placed the breakfast tray on the night stand before seating myself on the chaise next to his bedpost.
It was a beautiful room, really, and I thoroughly enjoyed my visits here. It was round and had two large windows on opposite sides of his bed. His bed was m

China laughed. He turned away from his desk to face little Shanghai, fiddling with her pajamas.
"Well, then, say it in your dialect if that makes things easier for now. We'll train your mandarin later."
Shanghai smiled shyly, and whispered, "then... nong kuvekuyi genala ghogo?"
China could almost squeal at her cuteness, and scooped her up into his arms, tickling her.

Iceland glared daggers at the Dane, "Idiot."
Spinning around on his feet, Iceland headed toward the door.
"I'm going home."

Kiku sighed as his headache got worse. More and more papers were piling up on his "URGENT"stack, and he was getting sick of this. Germany just lost and Italy was taken over by the allies a while ago. And now America was planning some sort of revenge for the attack on Pearl Harbour. Japan was not doing well. Kiku could feel
